These one-of-a-kind sterling silver earrings are part of a collection of work titled Animal Armour — a collection inspired by the duality of female fragility and inner strength.

As a Taiwanese woman born and raised in Eswatini, my work is rooted in the complexities of cross-cultural identity and personal narrative. This piece is not just an accessory, but a handmade expression of survival, power, and transformation.

Design Inspiration

The organic, sweeping forms of these earrings are inspired by the majestic horns of male antelope native to Eswatini. Horns in the animal world are both a symbol of defense and pride—I sought to capture their fluid motion, elegance, and latent power in each handcrafted curve.

These horns, like women, are beautiful yet strong, fragile yet formidable. I created this collection after surviving a personal experience of sexual assault. In processing trauma, I found healing in creation. This work represents a reclamation of my story and an homage to those navigating the journey from vulnerability to empowerment.
